Contested Digital Sovereignty: States, Corporations and Cross-Border Migration Control

As an investigative journalist focusing on migration and racial equity, I am interested in understanding how surveillance technologies, particularly biometric surveillance, are increasingly deployed for interior American migration control, and what the ramifications are for democratic processes. How has the increased use of automated processes changed the way governments use law enforcement militarization against civilians? To understand these dynamics, I chose Peace Research Institute Oslo for its strong research on the intersection of migration governance, securitization, and technology with a global perspective.
